Chelmsford’s one and only indie club.

bitterscene is an ‘indie’pendent club night which usually takes place on the last Wednesday of the month in the Bassment Club, Chelmsford.

We started life in February 2001 and are still going strong.

Our dj’s play classic & new ‘real’ indie tunes, C86/Sarah, french pop / bubblegum / 60′s beats & garage, and a splash of punk. 

PLUS each month we put on a couple of bands that we have experienced live and we think you would enjoy. Doors 8:30pm, bands start between 9:15 and 10:00 and finish in plenty of time for last trains. Entrance is usually £5 or £6 depending on who we have playing (sometimes even cheaper). Drink prices were in line with pubs not clubs, but are currently cheaper than many bars around town.
